The checkout step by step, from picking a plan and location to paying, what happens in the minute after payment, and how to turn your existing free server into a premium one without losing its files.
Going premium takes one checkout: pick what you are hosting, size it, choose a location, pay, and the server is built while you watch. If you already have a free server with a world or project on it, you do not have to start over: it can be upgraded in place and moved to premium hardware with its files intact. This guide covers both paths.

| You have a free server you want to keep, just bigger and always on | open that server's Settings → Operations and upgrade it in place (below) |
A free account gets one free server; once it exists, any further server has to be premium, and the create page says so.
Open Create server from the dashboard. The page is one scrolling form; each card unlocks the next.

/billing/success). Setup takes about a minute and keeps running if you close the page.If setup hits a snag, the success page says so and nothing is charged twice; the states and what to do about them are in Payment problems.
This keeps the server's files, world and settings and moves it to premium hardware.
The sheet warns that the server is transferred to a premium node after payment and that it may take a few minutes; the server is unavailable during the move and comes back with its new resources, 24/7 and without the free plan's timer. If your credit balance covers the whole upgrade, it is applied without a payment step. One warning in the sheet is worth heeding: 1 GB of RAM is not recommended for a Minecraft server, so pick 2 GB or more.
💡 Tip: Upgrading in place is the right choice when the server already has anything worth keeping. Buying a new server is better when you want a different game, a second server, or a clean start.
With a subscription and a saved payment method, the checkout charges you directly: run through the same form and press Launch server. The new server joins your subscription with its own billing cycle and renewal date, and shows up as its own row on the Billing page.
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| The card pop-up never appears | Allow pop-ups for the panel, or pick Wallets and local methods or PayPal instead. |
| Payment declined | Try another card or method; some cards block online or foreign payments by default. Your bank's app may be holding a 3-D Secure prompt. |
| "This location is full right now" | Nothing was charged. Pick another location in the panel that appears, or try the same one again in a moment; capacity updates automatically. |
| Paid, but no server | Wait a few minutes and refresh; setup retries by itself. If it still is not there, see Payment problems. |
| "Your account already has its free server" | That is the one-free-server rule; the new server needs the premium plan. |
