Search & Install Minecraft Modpacks

How do I install a modpack?
On the Modpacks page, use the Browse tab to search for a modpack, click it to open the details, then click Install on the version you want. The installer detects the mod loader, sets the matching Minecraft and Java versions, updates the startup configuration, and reinstalls the server. The server shows an installing/reinstall state while this runs. Read the full guide →
What modpack sources are available?
Use the source selector at the top of the search bar to switch between CurseForge, Modrinth, Technic, and FTB (Feed the Beast). Sort the results and filter by Minecraft version, or use the search bar to find packs like All the Mods, RLCraft, or SkyFactory. The My Packs tab lets you build and install your own custom packs.
How do I update an installed modpack?
When a modpack is installed, a status card at the top of the Browse tab shows its current version and checks for updates. If a newer version is found, an Update button appears showing current vs. latest; click it and confirm to update. Automatic update detection works for Modrinth and CurseForge packs only — for Technic and FTB the card shows that an update check is unavailable.
How is the Java version chosen for a modpack?
The installer picks Java automatically from the pack's Minecraft version: 1.21+ uses Java 21, 1.17–1.20 uses Java 17, 1.16.5 uses Java 16, and older versions use Java 8 (very new snapshots move up to Java 25). It also detects the loader (Forge, Fabric, NeoForge, or Quilt), updates the Docker image and startup command, accepts the EULA, and triggers the reinstall.
Can I add extra mods to a modpack?
Yes, but mind compatibility. Additional mods must match the modpack's mod loader and exact Minecraft version, or the server will crash. Test after adding mods, and always create a backup first. Use the Mods page to browse and install extra mods, or build a curated pack from the My Packs tab.
Will installing a modpack delete my files?
Installing a modpack does a clean reinstall — your current server files are moved aside and replaced with the pack's files. Falix automatically snapshots the old files into an internal backup folder first, but you should still create your own backup before installing or updating, since worlds and custom configs are overwritten. The server reinstalls and restarts when the process completes.
