What are server properties?
Server properties control gameplay rules and server behavior. The Properties page edits server.properties and, when present, related config files via tabs — bukkit.yml, spigot.yml, paper.yml, paper-global.yml, paper-world-defaults.yml, and purpur.yml (extra tabs only appear if your server software actually uses them). Your server must have been started at least once so these files exist; otherwise the page shows that server.properties could not be loaded.
How do I change game mode or difficulty?
Find the gamemode and difficulty entries and pick a value from their controls. Changes auto-save shortly after you stop editing (an indicator shows Saving, then Saved or Error). Most changes need a server restart to take effect. Use the search box, or press Ctrl+F, to jump to a specific property; you can also filter by category.
How do I change the server icon?
In the Server Icon section, upload an image up to 5 MB. The dashboard automatically resizes it to the required 64×64 and saves it as server-icon.png, so any common image format (PNG, JPEG, GIF, etc.) works. The icon then appears next to your server in players' multiplayer lists.
How do I set up the MOTD?
Use the MOTD Editor for a live preview as you type. It supports all 16 Minecraft color codes plus formatting toggles for bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, and obfuscated (and a reset), inserted as § codes. The MOTD is the description shown beneath your server name in the multiplayer list, limited to two lines. Changes apply after a restart.
What is Online Mode (Cracked)?
The online-mode property controls Mojang authentication. In the UI it is presented as a Cracked toggle: enabling Cracked mode turns off authentication so non-premium (offline) clients can join, which is a security risk — anyone can connect using any username, including operator names. A warning confirms this before it is enabled. Keep authentication on unless you specifically need offline players, for example behind a proxy that handles authentication.
How do I find a specific property?
Type in the search box at the top of the Properties list (or press Ctrl+F to focus it) to filter properties by name, and use the category dropdown to narrow the list. Each property shows its current value and an appropriate control — a dropdown, toggle, or text/number field — so you rarely need to edit raw text.
