How do I add mods to my server?
Go to the Mods page, browse or search for the mod you want, and click Install. The mod file downloads automatically to the
/mods directory. Your server must be running Forge, Fabric, NeoForge, or Quilt. Restart your server after installing to load the mod. Read the full guide →What is the difference between mod loaders?
Forge is the long-standing standard with the largest mod library. Fabric is a lightweight, modern alternative with faster updates. NeoForge is a community fork of Forge starting at Minecraft 1.20.2. Quilt is a fork of Fabric with a focus on community governance. Mods are not cross-compatible between loaders.
How do I search and filter mods?
Type a mod name in the search bar for combined results from Modrinth and CurseForge. Use Advanced Filters to sort by Downloads, Relevance, or date. Filter by category (Technology, Magic, Utility, Optimization, etc.), mod loader, game version, and environment (Server-side, Client-side, or Both).
What mod details can I view before installing?
Click any mod to open a detail modal. The Overview tab shows the full description, statistics, categories, supported loaders, platforms, license, and external links to GitHub, wikis, or Discord. The Gallery tab has screenshots. The Versions tab lists every release with install buttons, filterable by loader and game version.
Are there mod restrictions on the free plan?
Free plan users cannot install world pre-generation mods like Chunky and ChunkMaster, or dynamic map mods like Dynmap, BlueMap, SquareMap, JourneyMap, and Xaero's Map. Premium users have no mod restrictions. All other mods are available on both plans.
How do I check for mod updates?
Visit the My Addons page to see all installed mods with update status powered by Modrinth. If an update is available, you can install the newer version directly. Always check that the updated mod matches your mod loader and Minecraft version before updating. Back up your server first.
