How do I install a modpack?
Go to the Modpacks page, browse or search for a modpack, click it to view details, then click Install on your chosen version. The installer automatically detects the mod loader, sets the correct Minecraft and Java versions, updates the startup command, and triggers a server reinstall. Your server enters an "Installing" state during the process. Read the full guide →
What modpack sources are available?
You can browse modpacks from Modrinth + CurseForge (combined and deduplicated), Technic (Technic Platform), and FTB (Feed the Beast). Switch between sources using the source selector at the top. Filter results by sort order, Minecraft version, or use the search bar to find specific modpacks like All the Mods, RLCraft, or SkyFactory.
How do I update an installed modpack?
A status card at the top of the Modpacks page shows your installed modpack with its current version. If an update is available, an Update button appears showing the current vs. latest version. Click it and confirm to update. Automatic update detection works for Modrinth and CurseForge packs only, not Technic or FTB.
What happens when a modpack is installed?
The installer automatically: detects the mod loader (Forge, Fabric, NeoForge, or Quilt), determines the Minecraft version, selects the correct Java version (Java 8 for 1.8–1.15, Java 16 for 1.16–1.17, Java 17 for 1.18–1.19, Java 21 for 1.20+), updates the server egg and Docker image, writes the EULA, and triggers a reinstall.
Can I add extra mods to a modpack?
Yes, but be careful about compatibility. Additional mods must match the modpack's mod loader (Forge or Fabric) and exact Minecraft version. Mismatched mods will cause crashes. Test thoroughly after adding mods, and always create a backup before making changes. Use the Mods page to browse and install additional mods.
Will installing a modpack delete my files?
Yes — installing a modpack reconfigures your entire server, replacing existing server files. Always create a backup before installing or updating a modpack. Your worlds, custom configs, and other data may be overwritten. The server enters an "Installing" state and restarts automatically when the process completes.
