How do server backups work?
Create backups from the Backups page or through the File Manager's .backups directory. Backups save a snapshot of your server files. You can set custom names or use automatic timestamps, select specific files to back up, and lock backups to prevent accidental deletion. Rate limit: 2 backups per 10 minutes.
How many backups can I have?
Free plans allow 1 manual backup. Premium plans provide 20 or more backup slots plus automatic hourly backups on premium nodes. When your quota is full, the oldest unlocked backup is automatically deleted to make room. Lock important backups to protect them from auto-deletion.
How do I restore a backup?
Four restoration methods: Full Restore replaces your entire server (with optional file deletion first). Selective Restore restores specific files only (premium). Copy to Server moves backup files to a chosen location. Quick Restore is a two-step wizard from the File Manager. Your server should be stopped before restoring.
What are automatic backups?
Premium servers on premium nodes receive automatic hourly backups. These are grouped by date with 24 entries per page. Auto-backups count toward your backup quota but provide continuous protection against data loss. Combined with manual backups before risky changes, this ensures comprehensive server protection.
Can I transfer backups between servers?
Yes — click a backup and select Transfer to move it to another server you own. Requirements: the backup must be unlocked, you must own both servers, the destination must have available backup quota, and the destination cannot be in storage mode. This is useful when migrating configurations between servers.
How do I download a backup?
Click a backup and select Download to receive a time-limited URL for downloading the backup archive to your computer. You can also lock/unlock backups for deletion protection and delete single or multiple backups. Locked backups cannot be deleted or auto-removed when quota is reached.
