Advertise your Minecraft server

Publish your server to Falix's public server list — build the listing with a live preview, collect votes, and understand how ranking actually works.

Built a Minecraft server worth playing? The Advertise page publishes it to Falix's public server list, where players browse for somewhere new to join. You write a listing, watch it come together in a live preview, hit publish, and start collecting votes. Open Advertise from your server menu (it's on Minecraft servers only).

At a glance
You need A Minecraft server you own, with a subdomain set on the Network page
Plan All plans — publishing isn't premium
Time Twenty minutes to write a good listing

🎯 Good to know: Two things gate the page. It's Minecraft-only (other games don't have it), and you must set a subdomain first — the listing needs a clean address for players to join, so create one on the Network page before you publish.

Build the listing

The editor is organised into tabs, and everything you fill in shows up in the preview beside it. The fields:

Field Notes
Title 3–80 characters — your server's name
Edition Java, Bedrock, or Crossover
Language The server's main language
Open / Closed A live availability toggle, with an optional reason when closed
Icon Pick a Minecraft block or item as the list icon
Short description 20–180 characters; Minecraft colour codes work
Long description 80–4000 characters; full formatting
Tags Up to 8 from the preset list (survival, smp, economy, minigames, pvp, skyblock, factions, towny, roleplay, hardcore, modded, crossplay, prison, oneblock, and more)
Banner One header image (PNG/JPEG/WebP/GIF)
Gallery Up to 5 screenshots
Links Website and Discord, plus up to 6 extra links (store, socials, custom)
FAQ Up to 12 question-and-answer pairs
Updates Post news/changelog entries players can read
Comments Toggle player comments on, and moderate them from their tab

You won't find a "version" field — Falix reads your server's Minecraft version live and shows it for you (and deliberately keeps your exact software private).

💡 Tip: The short description is what players see in the list before they click. Lead with what makes your server different — "Hardcore SMP, no resets, active staff" beats "the best server ever."

The live preview

The left side of the page is a real copy of the public list card — the exact thing players will see — and it updates as you type. There's also a full-page preview so you can check the whole listing, gallery and all, before anyone else does. Get it looking right here first.

Publish and unpublish

Publish pushes the listing live; Unpublish takes it down again (with a confirmation). Every time you publish or update, the listing runs through an automated content check before it goes public — so a listing that breaks the rules is held back rather than posted. If a submission is rejected, the page tells you, and you fix and resubmit. There's a sensible limit on how often you can republish, so edit thoughtfully rather than spamming save.

Votes and ranking

Players vote for your server from its public page. Voting is anonymous and capped at one vote per player per server per day, and your vote count shows on your listing and in the panel. Ranking on the list rewards servers that are actively getting votes — recent votes count for more than old ones — so a steady trickle of daily votes does more than a one-time spike. There's no button to buy your way to the top; it's votes and freshness.

🎯 Good to know: This vote count is Falix's own, separate from in-game Votifier rewards. Votifier is a plugin that hands players a reward inside your game when they vote on a server list — a great way to encourage voting. Setting it up (and connecting other server lists) is its own topic: see Votifier and server listings.

Keep it fresh

A listing isn't set-and-forget. Post to the Updates tab when you add features or run an event, keep the Open/Closed toggle honest so players don't join a server that's down for maintenance, and reply to comments if you enabled them. An active-looking listing converts browsers into players.

Troubleshooting

  • The page won't let me publish — you need a subdomain set on the Network page first, and you must be the server owner.
  • My submission was rejected — the automated check flagged the content; adjust the wording or images the page points to and resubmit.
  • I can't find the Advertise page — it only appears on Minecraft servers; other games don't have a public list.
  • My votes reset or aren't counting — voting is one per player per day, and ranking weight fades over time by design; that's not a bug, it's how "active" is measured.
